40 DAY YOGA CHALLENGE
MARCH 23 - MAY 2, 2015
Are you looking to build a stronger yoga practice, change old habits or create a new way of living? Whether you are looking for a transformation or a shift in your daily routines, this program will support you to live the inspiring, healthful life you’ve always imagined. Yoga science teaches us that it takes 40 days to fully change a habit. What habits are you willing to confront?
READING AND JOURNALING - Using the book "40 Days to Personal Revolution" by Baron Baptiste as a support text, you’ll journal self-inquiry questions and channel an internal dialogue.
ASANA PRACTICE – The 40 days challenges you to at least 30 classes at Blue Point Yoga Center in 40 days. We encourage class practice, but the book can also help guide you in a home practice if needed.
MEDITATION – You’ll practice twice daily.
MINDFUL EATING – The text and weekly meetings/handouts/discussions will help you to design healthy eating patterns. There is a gentle detoxification during the program, if you're interested.
DISCUSSION – Weekly group discussions encourage and assist one another along your individual journeys. We will meet weekly to support one another and stay connected as a community as we move through the process. We will meet Saturday mornings at 9:30 (beginning 3/28).

Yin Yoga Workshop
April 4 ,2015, 3:30-6pm
Peel away the layers created by unbalanced habits of over-doing, over-efforting and over-achieving through Yin Yoga.
Yin Yoga emphasizes the connective tissues through a relaxed practice of long, passive holds in specific postures. These asanas gently stretch and rehabilitate the connective tissues that form our joints, allowing us to maintain and restore joint flexibility. Not only does this bring balance to our more active yoga practice, but it also allows us space to drop the outward going activity of the mind-body and experience ourselves as we are in this moment, without an agenda. By creating space for softening both our physical body and our mental state, we move inward to examine how our daily habits are reflected in our lives and allow energy to be redirected in a more harmonious way. We can then strengthen our ability to widen our sphere of what sensations and feelings we believe are "acceptable" in both ourselves and others, which creates a calmer abidance in the face of internal and external stress.
