movement for childbirth - couples yoga

Friday, february 6, 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Join us for a unique date night opportunity! We will explore a variety of movement strategies that can lead to a more satisfying and smooth birth experience. Yoga poses, acupressure points, massage techniques, visualization and breathing exercises will help moms and partners connect with each other and their baby, while learning hands on techniques to maximize mom's comfort so her labor can unfold more efficiently for mom and baby. This workshop will be led by Camille DeSantis (massage therapist, doula and prenatal yoga teacher) and Andrea Dixon (doula, prenatal yoga teacher and health coach). Wear clothes comfortable for movement.

valentine's Day Partner Yoga and massage

Saturday, February 14, 4-6pm

Join us for a special Valentine's Day class. Connect with your partner through gentle yoga poses and healing massage. Learn massage techniques that you can take home with you. This early evening class leaves plenty of time for continuing the romance at dinner or at home. We'll end with chocolate and champagne.

Yoga science teaches us that it takes 40 days to fully change a habit. What habits are you willing to confront?


READING AND JOURNALING - Using the book "40 Days to Personal Revolution" by Baron Baptiste as a support text, you’ll journal self-inquiry questions and channel an internal dialogue.

ASANA PRACTICE – The 40 days challenges you to at least 30 classes in 40 days. We encourage class practice, but the book can also help guide you in a home practice if needed.

MEDITATION – You’ll practice twice daily.

MINDFUL EATING – The text and weekly meetings/handouts/discussions will help you to design healthy eating patterns. There is a gentle detoxification during the program, if you're interested.

DISCUSSION – Weekly group discussions encourage and assist one another along your individual journeys. We will meet weekly to support one another and stay connected as a community as we move through the process. We will meet Saturday mornings at 9:30 (beginning 3/28).

Tim Feldmann is the director of Miami Life Center, the yoga shala he founded with his wife Kino MacGregor and runs with Matt Tashjian. He was set on the yoga path by his first teacher Lino Miele and is Authorized to teach directly by the founder of the Ashtanga Yoga Method, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and his grandson, R. Sharath Jois. A practitioner of the Advanced A series Tim is dedicated to Ashtanga Yoga's traditional method. A near fatal falling accident in 1992 led Tim on the yogic path. His teaching integrates extensive studies of F.M. Alexander Technique and sitting meditation with 20 years of experience as a professional dancer and an internationally acclaimed choreographer. His in-depth knowledge of functional anatomy, alignment as well as the idiosyncratic body and mind in stillness and in motion creates the platform upon which his solid understanding of the Ashtanga method rests. Yoga Fundamentals with Cherry Foreman

Are you curious about yoga but don’t know how to begin? Have you been to a few classes, but are confused about what’s going on? If so, then this beginner’s yoga series is perfect for you. This 6-week series will give you a chance to explore, ask questions, and learn about yoga in a friendly, non-threatening atmosphere. This class is for people of all fitness levels. You will practice the poses and breathing techniques that form the basis of a typical yoga class, learn about the benefits of yoga and about how to be safe in your practice.
