anne parnell constable
A native North Carolinian, Anne graduated with a degree in history from UNC-Chapel Hill. After working as a paralegal in New Orleans, she returned to Chapel Hill to complete a M.S. degree in Speech Language Pathology. Anne has been an educator with the N.C. public schools for 11 years, and is currently employed as a Speech Language Pathologist for Durham Public Schools.
In 2000, she discovered yoga and became hooked right away, attending several classes every week. Because of her love of teaching and yoga, it seemed natural for her to combine these passions. Initially, Anne completed a short training through Yogafit, after which she taught her co-workers at Hillsborough Elementary as a community service for her school. Wanting to deepen her yoga knowledge, practice, and teaching skills, she enrolled in a 240 hour teacher training through the North Carolina School of Yoga, which she completed in 2003. Anne has been teaching several vinyasa classes a week since that time, and continues to teach yoga to educators at Seawell Elementary in Chapel Hill.
Her prenatal class at Blue Point is appropriate for all levels, with modifications provided as needed to accommodate all her studentsŐ needs. The class increases strength, flexibility, balance, and stamina. In addition, yoga helps with deep breathing and relaxation. These benefits will help prepare for labor, delivery, and motherhood. Anne has been inspired by many local yoga teachers, and also JJ Gormley and Sean Corn.
Her greatest love is her children. Her daughter, Rachael, is a senior at Jordan High School, and her son, Richard, is a sophomore at Tulane University.
