julia tennison
Julia Tennison has been teaching yoga since January of 2005. She has recently deepened her practice and teaching by pursuing a Yoga Alliance teacher training in Wilmington inspired in the Anusara tradition. Julia teaches a multi-level hatha yoga class that cultivates a mind-body awareness on linking the breath to movement. Julia pursued a wide variety of dance styles before becoming involved in yoga, and taught ballet and jazz prior to teaching yoga. She graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2004 and received her initial yoga teacher training at UNC. Julia is also certified in Pilates, and has been teaching it since January of 2005. She received her Pilates training at UNC-Chapel Hill, and has given one-on-one Pilates mat sessions as well as group mat sessions. She teaches a multi-level Pilates class that emphasizes core strength by linking the Pilates breath with each movement to cultivate strength, flexibility, and muscle tone.
