At age 20 I realized something important was missing from my life; however, I couldn't put my finger on exactly what that "something was". When I saw that the college I was attending at the time offered yoga and meditation as accredited courses I thought maybe...just maybe...that was the answer. Every once in a while you hit the nail on the head, and this was one of those times. My life has been forever changed, and my desire is to offer this service back to others.

I have spent the last nines years practicing and studying yoga, meditation, and Eastern philosophy. Most of my time has been spent working in the Hatha yoga traditions of Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Anusara. I spent quite a while on the road traveling to study with some of the top Anusara and Iyengar teachers in the West including, but not limited to, Patricia Walden, Elien Muir, Amy Ippolti, Seana Sherman, Betsy Downing and John Friend. I am currently deepening my practice under the guidance of Lila Brown and Sommer and Paul Sobin.

Additionally, I spent much of my time between the ages of 24 and 27 in India, Tibet and Nepal delving into meditation and different schools of philosophical thought. While in the East I discovered a profound connection to the Tibetan Buddhist school of thought and practice, which lead me on a wild ride through the mystery and magic of this Tantric Buddhist path.

Later in my travels, my hidden passion for meditation and silence surfaced. While in India, I sat numerous silent retreats with the meditation organization Open Dharma, during which time I was able to connect with my heart and what I believe is the core of yoga itself.

I feel as though I am in the school of the Heart. To get an "A" means to live from the place of Love all of the time. Yoga, in all its facets, from the physical practice, to scriptural study, to meditation practice and much more, are all paths up the same mountain. I am on the trail, and hopefully can help guide others from knowledge born of my own experience.

Most of all I believe life is meant to be enjoyed, cherished and then let go of...so come and play!
