Dara Fort
A former gymnast and dancer, I felt immediately comfortable taking my
first yoga class 12 years ago in California. Yoga offered the physical
challenge I was seeking but came with many more benefits than anything
I had ever committed to before. Practice brought self- acceptance, contentment
and balance into my life. This revelation of self inspired me to share
yoga with others and pursue a teaching certificate. After earning a
Level 1 certification in Los Angeles and teaching for a year , a move
across the country to Baltimore brought a welcome breath of fresh air
. I continued to teach yoga through two pregnancies and earned my Level
2 teaching certificate in 2002. My Vinyasa teaching style has been influenced
by Doug & David Swenson, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Erich Shiffmann , Beryl
Bender Birch . I have been teaching yoga for the last ten years and
have gained an invaluable amount of knowledge regarding human nature,
the human body and our journey toward self-transformation. When I'm
not on the mat, I enjoy spending time with my family and making new
friends in Chapel Hill.
