Yoga Fundamentals
Our next session of Yoga Fundmentals will begin on March 8. This series will run for six weeks on Thursdays, 7:15pm - 8:30pm. No experience is necessary. Seasonal Yoga - Asana, Pranayama and Meditation
Saturday, February 4; 2:30pm - 5:00pm
Join Sara for an afternoon of yoga incorporating themes of the season in an invigorating practice that will leave you feeling stretched, refreshed and centered. We will undertake a self-exploration using the tools of yoga - moving, breathing, and sitting. All levels are welcome. The asana practice will be at the intermediate level, but modifications will be offered for beginners.

Yoga Body Buddha Mind with Cyndi Lee and David Nichtern
February 17-19, 2012
Cyndi Lee, founder of OM Yoga in NYC, and David Nichtern, a senior Shambala Buddhist teacher, return to Blue Point in February to present their always popular weekend of meditation and asana. Prices are $55 for single sessions or $200 for the entire weekend.

Yoga Body Buddha Mind, Part I: The first session of the weekend will introduce mindfulness meditation and explore how it can be incorporated into flowing asana sequences as a method for developing strength, stability, and clarity in both your mind and body.

Yoga Body Buddha Mind, Part II: This sessions will focus on finding balance in working with our own mind and body as a basis for being not too tight and not too loose in our changing lives.
Saturday, February 18; 9:00am - 12:00pm
Yoga Body Buddha Mind, Part III: In the third session of the weekend, we will explore how the difficulties we discover in our practice can really be the juice for going deeper!

Yoga Body Buddha Mind, Part IV: Our final session is a guided meditation and heart opening yoga class designed to help us develop loving kindness and compassion for ourselves and others.

Doug Swenson returns to Blue Point Yoga Center!
March 2-4, 2012Doug Swenson is returning to Blue Point Yoga Center for an invigorating and enlightening weekend of Fluid Power.
Prices are $55 for single sessions or $200 for the entire weekend.

Sadhana Yoga Chi (Fluid Power) A very soothing arrangement of soft and hard yoga asanas, connected together with mostly light light (non - muscle resistance vinyasa) and some challenging (muscles resistance vinyasa). You will enjoy the challenge, achieve a variety of new poses and move with fluid power. When finished, drift into a blissful deep relaxation followed by a guided meditation.
Lecture: Eight limbs of Yoga and Smaller Branches of Yoga: In this class the students will acquire a broad spectrum view of the eight limbs and how it affects our daily life. Also included - is a glimpse into some of the smaller branches, (Raja, Karma, etc).
Friday, March 2; 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Hatha Yoga - Soft Style Practice In this class we will practice a variety of postures – using a more restorative approach and non muscle resistance vinyasa.
Saturday, March 3; 9:00am - 11:30am
Yin Yoga In this class the students will enjoy the simplicity of a nurturing, gentle asana flow. Many postures will be supportive, relaxing and held for longer duration. The vinyasa will be light (Non muscle resistance). Studio owner, or students - are asked to supply props, which greatly enhance the experience.
Lecture: Breathing Basics and Practice of Pranayama:This class will give explanation and practice of several different pranayama techniques.
Saturday, March 3; 2:00pm - 5:00pm
Mysore Style Class In this class students will practice his or her own personal routine - (Any yoga practice routine from any style and any level – no limits) – Doug will go around the class and assist each student – on an individual basis…Using yoga adjustments and verbal suggestions - on how to improve alignment, vinyasa flow, strength, flexibility and technique. Any practice routine from any style – no limits.
